An $85.00 non-refundable application fee is paid online upon submission of the application.

The statement of purpose is the most important element of your application packet. This letter needs to reflect who you are, and the letter should detail why you are pursuing this degree, and why you want to earn this degree from our program at the University of Miami.

It is very important to ensure it is grammatically correct and as detailed as possible. The statement of purpose should be no more than two pages in length.

Three letters of recommendation must be provided. Two letters should be from a professor/faculty member. One letter should be from an employer, colleague, or other professional source.

Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution must be sent to the University of Miami Graduate School or CRIMadmissions@miami.edu . If your university is unable to send electronic transcripts, please have them mailed to: 

A minimum overall undergradA minimum overall GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate/graduate coursework.uate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

For applicants with an overall GPA lower than 3.0, the director may consider whether they have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 credits of upper-division undergraduate coursework as a factor in determining admission to the program.
